In the USA Today article, There has been talk about role-reversals in families. Women have been pushed as new breadwinners, or providers of the families. In my mind and household the women shouldn't have to work because it's the man's responsibility to provide. This isn't bad, but it's underappreciated. The men should start to step up again and take their role back as leaders.

 

        Wives have been the new breadwinners of 23% of families. "A USA Today analysis of Census Bureau data revealed a revolution in traditional roles of men and women." " The analysis said when one spouse works full-time and the other stays home, it's the wife who is the sole breadwinner." Wives out-earn their husbands 28% of the time when they both work. This means the wife is taking care of the family more than the husband.

 

        Men have been lenient and slacking on education because their wives work while they are stay at home dads. Women are getting jobs that make them leaders. " In nearly every case, the woman is better educated than the man." Men prefer being hands-on and outdoor with their jobs while women excel in higher paying jobs like deskwork. "The college gap has started driving startling changes in financial education between men and women."

 

       In closing, the role reversals are not a bad thing, but some people just don't agree with it. " Women are getting higher education than men which make them get higher-paying jobs." " Women earned 57% of bachelor's degrees, 60% of master's degrees, and 52% of doctoral degrees in 2010." That's proof that men have to step up and get education to take care of their families.
